Frank Allen Grill

If you’ve never been to Tennessee, you may be surprised at the number of diners/grills that can be found inside gas stations, no I’m not kidding. Fank Allen’s is such a place. This is a true hidden gem, even though they have been around since the 1950s. Great cheeseburgers and hot dogs.

Old Mill

In the 1780s, Mordecai Lewis moved from Virginia to the banks of a Tennessee river. Pioneer Isaac Love built an iron forge there that would eventually, along with the huge numbers of passenger pigeons, give the settlement the name. The mill is still in operation today. Fresh ingredients and time-tested home cooking, good family style meals with large portion sizes. Often there is a wait time, but they will call your name over a loud speaker into the surrounding area. This allows you to shop at the mill general store, old forge distillery, or sit outside and relax. One of the favorites in the area.

Old Mill Pottery House Café

The Pottery House Café serves freshly made sandwiches, salads, and hearty entrees on dishes created by the potters right next door. Located right across the street from the Old Mill. If the line is long at the Old Mill check out the place. The service and food are wonderful, they have outdoor seating in front, or in back by the Koi Pond.

One of the best places to eat in the area. Great for special occasions and a romantic right out. Wonderful service, and as good a steak as you will find in the area. If you like bourbon or cocktails this is the place for you.

known for flavorful food, including custom steaks and one of the best salad bars in the area. Also has great service and a fantastic location on a mountain stream. You will need a reservation if you choose The Peddler Steakhouse. It is our go to for anniversaries.
